The
Vision
From Canvas to Kinetic Form
My work explores the intersection of fine art and functional environment. By translating original paintings into bespoke textiles, I aim to dismantle the boundary between the viewer and the medium. These prints are not merely decorative; they are a continuation of a visual language. My work is conceptualized as fine art and re-engineered to live within the movement of fashion and the architecture of interior spaces. Each pattern retains the soul of the original brushwork while embracing the tactile geometry of fabric.
Ii. The Lineage of the Craft
Heritage & Education
My approach to textiles is rooted in a lifelong apprenticeship to the craft, beginning in the heart of my community. Before I approached the canvas as a fine artist, I was shaped by the hands of elders and the traditions of the Deep South.
The Quilting Circles
I was introduced to the structural logic of textiles through the patience of Ms. Emma and Aunt Shirley. As elders in our church, they volunteered their time to teach us quilt-making. It’s a vital art form preserved by descendants of those who survived the transformations of the Deep South. From them, I learned that every scrap of fabric carries a narrative and every stitch is a tether to history.
The Indigo & Gullah Traditions
My formal education was enriched by local batik artists from the Gullah Geechee community. Through them, I encountered the art of indigo natural dyes and the precision of wax prints. Designing my own textiles in school wasn't just a lesson in technique; it was an immersion into a cultural language of pattern and resistance.
The Gift of Medium
My journey into weaving and rug-making was fueled by my family. The fabrics gifted to me by my aunt and relatives became the raw material for my early explorations, teaching me how to manipulate fiber into form long before I transitioned these concepts into fine art.

This section explains the bridge between fine art and manufacturing.
III. The Philosophy & Logic
A Systematic Evolution
I believe that a space or a garment should possess the same emotional depth as a masterpiece on a wall. My process involves a rigorous systematic evolution. I enjoy taking the raw energy of a fine art piece and applying the structural logic required for high-end textile production.

V. Technical Capabilities & Materiality
Mediums
Cotton, Silk, Jersey, Satin, Canvas, Lycra, Velvet, Linen, Polycotton, and Knit
Techniques
Digital Sublimation, Reactive Printing, and Original Hand-Painted Patterns.
• Reactive Printing: Used for my natural fibers (cotton, silk, linen, wool). This is their premium method where the dye chemically bonds with the fiber, ensuring the fabric stays soft and the colors remain vibrant through many washes.
• Sublimation Printing: Used for my synthetic fibers (polyesters, lycras, poly-blends). The ink is turned into gas and fused into the fibers, making it permanent and peel-proof.
• Pigment Printing: Often used for a broader range of fabrics where a slightly more "on-top" feel is acceptable, typically offering a more matte or muted finish compared to the deep saturation of reactive dyes.
